Part 2: The Year of the Lord’s Favor

During the month of December, as we so often do, we turn our attention to thinking about the moment in which God changed history, becoming one of us in the birth of His Son, Jesus. For the duration of this series we will focus on one primary idea, an idea that is central to Luke’s birth account: the favor of God. The year, or time, of God’s favor (Isaiah 49:8) was written about by the prophet Isaiah in chapter 49, a message that very obviously points to the coming of Jesus. His appearance among us would act as a bold declaration of God’s favor, both to those who were already His people (the Jews), and those who would be grafted into The Vine as well (the rest of us)!
